Like many Bluetooth hearing aids, the Nexia can stream calls, music, and other audio. However, they are also Auracast™ compatible. Auracast™ aims to make it easier to hear in public places like airports and movie theatres by transmitting sound directly into your hearing aids. The technology isn’t expected to roll out widely until early 2025 but is already available for some at-home devices. If you want features like Auracast™, discreet styles, hand-free calling, and noise reduction, Jabra hearing aids may be right for you. The Jabra Enhance Select 500 is made by the same manufacturer, GN, as the ReSound devices. These over-the-counter hearing aids have many of the same tools as some ReSound models but may be more affordable hearing aids.
If you have mild hearing loss, are new to hearing aids, or are on a limited budget, Audien hearing aids may be a better fit. At just $189 a pair, the Audien Atom 2 is a fraction of the cost of prescription hearing aids. However, they don’t have the same level of sound quality nor the technological advances as many ReSound devices.
Budget-conscious shoppers who want affordable hearing aids with a few more capabilities than Audien may like the MDHearing Volt. Often sold for under $400, these MDHearing hearing aids are comparable in price to the Atom 2 but also offer noise cancellation.
